Metalcore Music Genre

Metalcore is what is classed as a fusion genre, this meaning it is made up of two other genres of music. This genre being made up of extreme metal, and also hardcore punk. The songs often contains breakdowns in their instrumentals, this meaning that the tones of the instruments may drop down to low notes, or build up to high notes. It can also mean that the song becomes a lot calmer, which is classed as a build up. At concerts this build up is used to put the audience on edge before they have to proceed to create a 'mosh pit' (which is where the audience members begin to charge around in a circle bumping into each other rather violently) or they make a 'wall of death'. This being similar to a mosh pit, except they don't run in a circle. The audience members separate into two groups, before turning to face each group, in which they then run with speed at each other, in a violent manner, before punches and kicks are being thrown. Bands that fit into this genre are Bullet For My Valentine, The Devil Wears Prada, and also Killswitch Engage.
